How to get to Estepona

The closest airport is Málaga-Costa del Sol, about 80 km via the AP-7, roughly 50 minutes by car. You can also reach it from Marbella in 25 minutes or from Algeciras in about 40. There is no direct train, but there are direct buses from Málaga and major coastal towns.

When to visit

Estepona works all year thanks to the Costa del Sol microclimate. Spring and autumn are ideal: mild temperatures, fewer crowds and better prices. Summer brings life to the beaches and terraces late into the night. Winter offers a special southern calm: sunny days, a quiet town and the feeling of having it all to yourself.

What not to miss

The old town early in the morning, before the heat. The seafront promenade at sunset. The local market to see what locals actually eat. And if you have a car, drive up to Ronda for a day — the distance is short and the contrast with the coast is unforgettable.
