Some coastlines are pretty. The Costa Brava is something else. The water here has that green-blue colour that looks edited but isn't. The coastal paths smell of pine and sea at the same time. And the villages have that quietness that only belongs to places that don't need to prove anything.

Our place in Tossa de Mar is designed around one idea: letting you actually experience the Costa Brava, not just visit it. Not a standard hotel, but somewhere you settle into with everything you need and nothing you don't.

Tossa de Mar. The Vila Vella, medieval walls above the sea, golden sand beaches. The kind of place you arrive thinking you'll stay two days and leave already planning your return.
The Camí de Ronda. The coastal path that threads through coves and clifftops all along the Costa Brava. From Tossa you can walk spectacular stretches with views that don't need a filter.

Getting to Costa Brava

The closest airport is Girona-Costa Brava, about 35 minutes from Tossa de Mar. You can also drive from Barcelona in under an hour and a half via the AP-7. There's no direct train to Tossa, but buses run from Girona and Barcelona in season.

When to come

June and September are the sweet spot: the water is warm, the crowds haven't arrived or have already gone, and prices are more reasonable. July and August are lively but busy. Out of season the Costa Brava has a quiet beauty all its own the villages feel like themselves again.

What to do

The Vila Vella walls at sunset, the Camí de Ronda towards Lloret de Mar, snorkelling in the coves north of Tossa, and dinner at a village restaurant where the set menu still costs what it should. If you have a car, drive up to the Montseny one day, the contrast with the coast is something else.

Where to eat

Tossa has good old-school restaurants, especially for fish and rice dishes. Ask us when you arrive and we'll tell you where the locals go, that's always a better guide than any review site.
